I cant style my hair. Help!!?

So I have the medium length hair with super short side bangs. Whenever i try to straighten them the stick straight out like a visor! I dont use any products in my hair besides Argon oil to make my hair soft and silky. I'm about to go to the salon to just ask her to give me full out bangs. Unless one of you amazing people have a solution. Please Help!
